People ask "why are you still open? You should be closed!". We are open because 90+ percent of small businesses in the US employ millions of people. Most small business owners aren't the rich people living in the huge houses we all admire. They are hard working people just like you. They are your neighbors next door, your family and friends. We not only have families to provide for but we also consider our employees as family and their families. If the businesses close and go out of business, that means millions would lose their jobs. We want to operate as safely as we can while still letting you have a great time. We are an outdoor activity and always strive to maintain a cleaner environment than some other places you visit. Our customers usually come in medium sized groups, 5-15 people. Those people are going to have close interactions with each other their whole trip, so what does being on a wagon together cause? If the tourism industry was to shut down it would just make the streets more crowded. We're not the greedy money hungry people or owners. We are the people trying to survive just as millions of Americans. Our employees were thankfully taken care of by unemployment since their hours were cut to basically nothing. All the businesses have been running on, at most 20% of their income and many haven't been able to hold on and stay around. Some of those that are gone are some of your favorite places! You should try living on 15-20% of your income for 6 months, it's rough. A bunch of Nashville businesses are gone forever. That includes the fancy restaurants in the Gulch, the mom and pop souvenir stores, and many others that are now out of business. The thousands of bartenders, servers, bar backs, security, managers and others jobs have been out of work and are struggling. The musicians we all love to hear in the restaurants and bars haven't been working and the few times they have, its been for free because people can't get inside to tip them and that's some of their livelihoods. It's a horrible time for everyone but don't judge those trying to survive and make ends meet when you are taken care of. It's easy to criticize when you are not in their position. So many have said they are months behind, their kids are struggling and many other issues. As business owners, we love our city, we love our tourist, our community, all the employees and the entertainers that let you enjoy this beautiful city. They all have families and they need help. We'll be here just trucking along. God bless us all and stay safe!
People always ask whats open! For the most up to date closings, check out nashvilleguru.com. They seem to keep it updated. We keep adapting to ensure we meet all local guidelines for COVID. Thank you for working with us during this situation. Mask are required in Nashville. We recommend you wear a mask but due to certain laws we are not allowed to ask why you aren't wearing one. You are all adults, be safe and make your own conscious decisions.
